About us and the breed

We are a small Scottish breeder based in West Lothian. Our aim is to breed quality kittens that are well socialised and a good example of the breed standard. The Russian Blue cat was originally known as the "Archangel cat" because it was said to have arrived in Europe aboard ships from the Russian port of that name (Arkhangel'sk).

This breed naturally arose in the frosty area of the Arctic circle near Arkhangel'sk, a harsh climate and freezing conditions made other breeds not mix with these cats and thanks to this specific climate the undercoat of these cats is the same length as the top coat.
This breed is very sociable, good natured and becomes very attached to their owners. They dont like loneliness and prefer company (Human or another Cat/Animal). They are perfect for households with children or the elderly.

Russian Blues are one of the most beautiful cat breeds with gorgeous green eyes and slender long legs they have a gorgeous silver/blue fur that looks like its woven from a dew laden spiders web.
